Brecht retrata la sociedad alemana, de la llegada de Hitler al poder hasta el principio de la segunda guerra mundial, con sus mecanismos diarios de intimidaci\u00f3n, de denunciaci\u00f3n, de propaganda y de corrupci\u00f3n, pero tambi\u00e9n con sus revueltas y su resistencia naciente.
